My Home Fridge Trips Every 20-30 Mins & Not Cooling

Hi, my fridge is not cooling properly. It runs for about 20 to 30 minutes and then trips. I called a technician, and he refilled the gas, saying it was low. It worked fine for 1-2 days, but now the exact same problem is back. I am really confused about what to do next. Could it be a gas leak, a faulty compressor, or a relay issue? Any advice would be appreciated!

Sorry for the late reply.

It sounds like you have a gas leak. Since refilling it worked for a day or two and then stopped, the new gas has probably leaked out again. When there is no gas in the system, the compressor runs continuously, gets too hot, and then the overload protector trips it every 20 to 30 minutes to prevent it from burning out.

You should call a technician back and ask them to actually find and repair the leak before putting any more gas in. Also, have them check the starter relay and overload protector just in case they were damaged from the constant overheating.
This sounds like a classic case of an overcharged system or a failing starter relay. If the technician put too much gas, the high pressure will overload the compressor and cause it to trip.

Alternatively, a weak start capacitor or relay is struggling to keep it running. Have a technician check the operating pressure and test the relay before assuming the compressor is dead.
